Beginning in 1995, NYRWA has worked with ten towns in Columbia County to help protect their groundwater resources. The majority of this work was completed at no cost to these municipalities through federally-funded source water protection programs. More details about this project are included in the final report, posted below.
This project was prepared with funding provided in part by NYS Hudson River Valley Greenway in cooperation with the Columbia County Planning Department, Columbia County Environmental Management Council, and the Town of Chatham.
Included with this project is a set of maps showing surficial geologic materials and unconsolidated aquifers for the ten participating towns.
