The Columbia County Planning Board (CCPB) reviews proposed actions subject to referral under New York State General Municipal Law Article 12-B, Section 239-l, and Section 239-m. This law requires that municipal boards refer certain planning and zoning actions to the County Planning Board for review and recommendation before the municipal board may take final action. The purpose of the review is the consideration of potential countywide and inter-municipal concerns related to the proposed action.
Municipal legislative bodies may enter into an agreement with the CCPB to exempt certain proposed actions from mandatory referral. Contact the Planning Department for information.
Please note that it is not necessary to refer applications for Subdivision review. The CCPB has not been authorized by the Board of Supervisors to review subdivisions pursuant to NYS GML Section 239-n.
The CCPB meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Columbia County Office Building, 1st Floor Committee Room, 401 State Street, Hudson, NY 12534.
