Feature Teacher

Congratulations, Mrs. Hall

I do not feel like I chose teaching, I feel like teaching chose me! After earning a bachelor’s degree in business, working as an investigator for the government and as a quality inspector at a local manufactured housing factory, I felt called into teaching. I returned to college, earned my teaching degree, started teaching elementary school at Clarion-Limestone where I am in my 14th year teaching, and I feel so blessed to be living my dream job! I truly enjoy teaching all subjects, but if I have to choose a favorite, I enjoy teaching reading, math, and social studies!! I am certified to teach elementary school and middle school math. In addition to teaching, I help direct C-L’s high school plays and musicals! I also tutor in the After 4 program and am the social studies department chair.

My craziest and most exciting adventure is a trip I took with family to Mexico. While there, I snorkeled with beautiful tropical fish, rented a golf cart and used it to tour a small island, and bartered in the market. Even more exciting than this, I climbed the Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza! My most recent adventure was a trip to the New York State Hot Air Balloon Festival in Dansville, NY where I took a tethered ride in a hot air balloon. My favorite vacation spots include a tropical beach!

Some of my favorites: Although I LOVE Country Music, my two favorite songs are “I’ll Be There For You” by Bon Jovi and “In My Daughter’s Eyes” by Martina McBride. “I’ll be There For You” is a bond between my four sisters and me. “In My Daughter’s Eyes” makes a connection between my mother, my daughter, and me. For a favorite animal - I choose hermit crabs and sea turtles! I love the beach! I love baking cookies and everyone’s favorite is my chocolate chip cookies! In addition, I truly enjoy travelling and exploring new places. I have had the opportunity to travel to several states in the United States as well as to Mexico, Punta Cana, Germany, and France.Rather than having an idol or mentor, I have a favorite team...I love working with Miss Truman and Mrs. Kepler. Our fifth grade teaching team works well together and we make each other better!

My hero is my grandfather. He was a World War II Veteran, a devoted family man, and a role model for strong honest characteristics and faith. He is my personal motivation to coordinate C-L’s annual Veterans Day celebrations. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children, baking, and travelling. My daughter Allyssa is a librarian in an elementary school in Hampton, Virginia. She lives on the Chesapeake Bay with her puppy Sophie. I love visiting her there and travelling to nearby beaches. My son Jonathan is in his second year of college at Penn State studying mechanical engineering. He commutes to DuBois campus and will transfer to Behrend next year.

If I could have one wish, I would wish for children everywhere to having loving, caring homes, a great education, and a bright future! More about me...My twin sister and I are Scorpios! My favorite dessert is

CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING!!
