1 - Get a bound composition notebook to use for APES
2 - Read the APES syllabus and safety contract and then fill out this online form (your parents will also need to fill some out)
3 - Look through our class CANVAS pages and this website (Jot down any questions)
4 - Record a 30 second video introduction using the correct link below

August 29/30 (Tue/Wed)
1 - Write your name on an index card (for your class mug shot!)
2 - On your own - Write in notebook: "What is nature?" followed by group and class discussion
3 - As a group read THESE descriptions of different worldviews. Don’t judge them, just try to understand.
In your notebook: write for each of the worldviews (domination, stewardship, eco-centrism, bio-centrism, animal rights, eco-feminism)
Each group will summarize ONE of the worldviews for the class (I will assign you one after you read all of them)
4 - Write in your notebook which worldview most closely matches your own and why. (My worldview)
5 - Read one of these American Indian perspectives and groups share out

2 - Read "Fighting environmental justice in NC" Answer the questions below in your notebook: 1 - Summarize what happened to the people living in the Rogers-Eubanks community. 2 - Why do you think the community had to fight so hard to get what was agreed to in their deal? 3 - Explain what you think the term Environmental Racism means? What do you think about it?
