21th and 25th of October 2019, the delegations from "Samorządowy Zespół Szkół w Kostkowie” School, "Cella Vinaria" Secondary School and "Miejski Zespół Szkół w Świeradowie-Zdroju" School took part in the activities of the project Dialogic Revolution Erasmus+ in Valenii de Munte, Romania. The teams were made by the next members:
Kostkowo team: 2 teachers and 11 students.
Świeradowie-Zdroj team: 2 teachers and 10 students
Spanish team: 2 teachers 14 students and 2 family representatives.
The groups arrived along Sunday. In the evening, all participants made a meeting in "Vera and Livia" Hostel (place where Polish teachers and some students stayed ). Here the rest of students could meet their hosted families. After that, everyone went home to have dinner and some rest.
On Monday an official reception took place in "Romeo Constantinescu” Technological High School. Polish and Spanish group were received according to Romanian traditions (traditional clothes, special bread,..., this was very special and emotional). The management team of the school welcomed us and an adorable group of children delighted us with their magic voices (they had been preparing typical Spanish and Polish songs). We could enjoy with two plays about Romanian legens. Then the students had time for different activities and we visited the school. Then we went to have lunch in a restaurant. Afterwards everyone had free time, so the students met in the center and local students showed the village and the interesting places .
On Tuesday everyone woke up early to make a beautiful trip to visit two mythical and historical castles (Peles and Bran) and a great town (Brasov). Our first stop was in Sinaia where Peles castle is located . It is a jewel where we could know the mix of architectural style and a lot of treasures (weapons collections, crystal, furnitures, woods,..). Also we had time to enjoy the gardens and outdoor spaces aroud the castle. Then we restarted the trip on the way to Brasov. This is a big town with a special historic centre. We had time to have lunch and go for a walk around the main square, black church and some medieval watchtower.
After Brasov, we went to Bran to visit Bran castle. This castle is famous because a lot of people say that it is Dracula castle, but there aren't any documents that prove it. (All of them are legends). However, the visit was very interesting because inside the castle there were a lot of historical information about the castle and the real Dracula (Vlad Tepes). Also, around the castle we spent time walking (in a tourist market and around beautiful Bran streets). Finally we came back to Valenii to rest.
On Wednesday we got up early again because it was the day to visit Bucharest. We went directly to Parliament. It is a huge building (it is the biggest administrative building in the world) that gave us an idea of the recent Romanian history. We could visit different parts of the Parliament thanks to a special permission and we even had lunch there. We could never imagine the places and spaces that were inside (theatre, Opera, luxury assembly halls,...).
After the Parliament we went to another area of Bucharest to visit the "National Village Museum", where we could contemplate the Romanian traditional types of buildings depending on the region and period. Then there were two possibilities and we could select to make a sightseeing bus tour around Bucharest or walking around "Herastrau lake park". Later, we took our bus headed to Valenii.
Thursday was the day for culinary workshop. Everyone went to Vera and Livia hostel, where we could learn a bit of delicious Romanian food. The students were divided in differents tasks (cutting vegetables, seasoning meat, making rolls,...).
The group was working to the sound of music and spontaneously the students decided to improvise a dance workshop. This was funny, so you could see Polish students teaching other students how to dance and later Spanish or Romanian students were the teachers instead. We ate the food, a small group of students visited a school of special needs children and in the evening we walked to visit a small natural museum and then everyone had free time to shop for gifts and souvenirs.
At night the Polish and Spanish teachers were surprised with a Romanian dinner (special dishes, live music and dance, a great and unforgettable experience).
On Friday everyone came back to "Romeo Constantinescu” Technological High School. It was time for the teachers to make the evaluation, an interesting family cafe with a group of mothers while the students made different activities and workshops. We visited Nicolae Lorga Museum (in the center of Valenii) too. In the evening the students spent time with the hosted families although students and teachers ran into each other because it was the opening of Autumn festival.
With no doubt whatsoever, this was a special week, where we could feel the culture and the affection of Romanian people. Strong bonds were made between students and teachers. Everyone is waiting for the next meeting. Świeradowie-Zdroj, let's go!
