This course allows students to experience and apply a variety of processes and techniques that use glass and metal to create works of art. Students will apply and use the Art Elements and Principles of Design as they create their works of art. One part is basic metalsmithing, using skills of; cutting, texturing, soldering, finishing and polishing flatware metal projects. A second part will introduced the use of glass to create; opaque glass mozaic, transparent stained glass, and a glass fusing project. Student Artists will create, design and develop a Portfolio Website showing their project work skills and improvements. The purpose of this course is to understand and appreciate the historical and cultural context of both glass and metal as an art medium.
