Envisioning Transformation: A process Model, The Good Life, Ritual and Guided Construction of Meaning

This course presents an overview and foundation for the arts in transformation. An artist typology will be explored as part of an art in transformation personal and social change model. Basic terms in the arts and transformation model will be defined. Consideration will be given to the power of the arts, and basic principles for effective arts engagement. These set the stage for the fields of arts-based community development, cultural community development, development communication, and arts-based community mission. Practical applications of theory and theology will be considered for holistic community development, program planning, standards for community arts programs, and program evaluation.
