The computer lab at Nicollet has been disassembled in preparation for our new iMac lab! Many thanks to those who helped, especially Mrs. Myott, her son Will, Mrs. Armbrust & Mr. Good, and the 8th graders.
The computers from the lab are being offered to families who do not have a computer at home. We have installed the free Ubuntu Linux operating system (version 8.10) and have included OpenOffice as well (for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases and drawing). These computers are internet-ready and work just fine but come with no warranty or support. If you are interested in getting one of these computers for your family, please contact Sue Kerr or me, and we'll do our best to see that you get one. There are 20 systems available on a first-come, first-served basis.
We need your help!
The rest of the systems that are no longer functioning or those not claimed need to be recycled. You could save Blessed Trinity a great deal of money if you are willing to take one full system for us. Each household is allowed to recycle one computer per year for free! If you are interested in helping us out, please contact me ASAP. We need to move those systems out by mid-April.
