The Internal Postings detail section displays the entire IPost details along with income and expenses accounts allocated internally.
After adding an IPost, the detail page is displayed as below and by default the IPost status will be in the draft.
Allocate: Allows to add a specific account to the IPost which comes under the company you've selected.
You can also "Refresh" the IPost if you made any changes in accounts after adding to the IPost.
Click on "Allocate" to add accounts to IPost. Once the accounts are added/allocated, the IPost is displayed as below:
Accounts can also be removed from invoice by clicking on 'Unallocate' button.
Accounts: This shows the list of account(s) allocated to the IPost.
Data: This displays the list of all fields that are associated with the IPost and defined under Masters -> Data Fields -> Internal Postings.
Files: This displays all manually uploaded documents for the IPost.
Comments: This allows to add specific comments associated with the IPost . As soon as the comment gets added the previous commenter (if any) is notified.
Action Log: Displays information about all changes made to the IPost by users, along with the local time and date and the name of the user who made the changes.
Note
You can allocate Income and Expense accounts (not disbursements).
You cannot allocate accounts that are already allocated to an invoice or bill.
You cannot allocate accounts to bills or invoices if they are already allocated to an IPost.
IPosts can be approved only when the sum of Income and Expense accounts is exactly zero.
IPosts can be approved only if all allocated accounts are approved (or don't require approval).
Accounts linked to IPosts can never have taxes.
Sequence numbers for the IPost will be generated upon approval.
Once synced to Finance systems, the FinRef field will be populated.
