CLASSIFICATION OF LIFE
Classification eliminates three problems facing the study of living creatures. It organizes the amazing number of living organisms on this planet into manageable groups. Naming living things scientifically avoids mistakes when using common names and overcomes language barriers. Lastly, classification gives us grouped information. We all know what reptiles are, so if a new one is discovered, then we already know a great deal about it.
Students will create a dicotymous key. This activity ensures that students will know how to use a key to classify living organisms.
