1. Get in groups of 3-4, get a sheet of chart paper, and designate someone to be the scribe.
2. Using a mind-mapping diagram, for 1 minute, brainstorm all of the terms and concepts you know about both reading/interpreting and writing/creating the following kinds of texts:
3. Pass your diagram to the next group. Designate a new scribe. Continue brainstorming where the last group left off. We'll do this until you have run out of ideas.
4. Designate a reporter who will share with the class the results of collective brainstorming.
