*Students will receive technology instruction within the classroom, during media time, and during our scheduled computer lab time.

Our focus in Technology will include:

Computing Systems:

• selecting an appropriate program and utilizing the software to perform tasks

• using appropriate terminology to identify or describe the physical componets of a computing system

• using problem solving skills to manage malfunctions (checking headphones, adjusting volume, etc.)

• logging-in and logging-off a computing system correctly

Network Usage:

• explaining what a password is and why we use them in addition to keeping personal passwords safe

• launching a browser and navigating within a website to locate information

• avoiding and recognizing harmful behaviors (such as sharing private information, sharing hurtful information, or leaving public devices logged in) and knowing they should be avoided

Data & Analysis:

• Storing, copying, searching, retreiving, modifying, and deleting information on a computing device

• Collecting, organizing, and presenting data in a visual format on a computing device
