“Optional” At Home Family Project: Valentine Keepsake Box
To make our holiday celebration more memorable students who wish to do so may create a “Valentine” Keepsake Box to collect their Valentines from friends. This is an “optional” project. Awards will be given based on results of voting by secret ballot the day before our party. Children will vote for “most creative, most colorful, neatest construction, most materials used, most “natural” (items from nature), most thematic holiday, most thematic-non-holiday, most hearts, most personality of creator (we knew who made it without reading the name!), etc. In addition, each student will receive an award certificate of participation for their creation at the conclusion of our party. There are no guidelines or scoring rubric for this project. Students may create whatever type of Valentine Box they desire. Please take into consideration transport to and from school when making the box. Children will need to transport boxes home on the school bus after our party (unless a parent is in the building).
