The personal statement the students are asked to provide allows the Foundation to learn more about the student than relying solely on GPA. We want their essays to be unique. Pay attention to the word count requirement and ensure your statement is free from mechanical errors. To this end, we strongly encourage students to work with a writing tutors or one of ACCelerator Student Support Specialists. ACC Scholarships are generally limited to 300 words (between 250-500) in which you must address the prompt: Submit an essay of 300 words or more explaining educational and career goals, and how you have effectively reached out to others for guidance. It's recommended (and required in some cases) that you obtain references and include a community involvement resume. A community involvement resume is where you can list volunteer work, involvement with clubs and organizations, and other non-employment experience.
