Lab: Sterile Technique

Module Objectives:  

Utilizing critical reasoning and the nursing process, the student is expected to:

1.      State the rationale for the use of sterile technique

2.      Identify procedures requiring sterile technique

3.      Apply the principles of sterile technique while performing:

a.      Opening a sterile pack

b.      Donning sterile gloves

c.      Arranging a sterile field

d.      Adding items to a sterile field

e.      Adding liquids to a sterile field

f.       Working within a sterile field
