Panel Presentation Expectations & Guidelines
You or your group will prepare a presentation with the above objectives in mind. Your presentation will be timed and you will be obliged to close after your allotted time has elapsed.
You MUST use Google slides, so we can see the revision history, and it is easily sharable
Each member of a group is to speak for 5-7 minutes, for a total of 10 - 15 min. A student presenting alone has 7 -10 minutes
Rehearse the presentation many times
Notecards are permitted
MLA Citation must be used as required (text and images). Images you created should be credited to you; all other images should have correct MLA citations.
Use of video and audio clips is encouraged and limited to no more than two minutes of your presentation
Be efficient. Do not utilize links to the Internet (your audience does not want to wait for html pages to open).
Hyperlink or embed files in your presentation to make it seamless and eliminate the tedious, error-prone and unprofessional opening and closing of files
PRESENTATION SLIDES ARE DUE IN MENTORING ON MAY 15. Meeting this deadline will allow for oral presentation practice and time to act upon feedback. You will also have some practice time during mentoring class.
Question and answer session: This five-minute session follows the student presentation and allows the faculty panel to ask questions and determine proficiency on the Learning Goals.
What does the showcase and presentation day look like?
Senior Showcase is open to all community members
Create an attractive presentation booth to share work
Oral presentations will begin at 1:00 pm and the day will be over by 4:00 pm
Seniors and juniors may leave after the oral presentation is completed
A schedule will be emailed to students that details the members of each student’s faculty panel, the panel leader, and the exact time that each student will present.
Be 10 minutes early to your appointment.
Oral Presentation slides due date: Embed (not just a link) the final draft of your Google Slides to your website by MAY.
Dress for the day is business-casual attire
What should we keep in mind when presenting as group?
The whole presentation is to be organized between each speaker (it is NOT two separate presentations)
Do not repeat what another group member stated
Remember to represent individual work and the work of the team
Students are scored individually. Students within groups may have different scores.
