Website Requirements
The most essential element to a successful Senior Project website is intentional and thoughtful digital story telling...
Photos, videos, interviews documenting the entire process of your project...visuals that reflect the development of the project and include you the student engaging in the project development.
Include brief explanation of each photo/video.
Show visitors to your website how you spent time over the course of the project. We should easily see your time commitment by the things you do and the supporting text on the reflection post.
Post work samples of your social media presence, lesson plans, art work in development, work products, etc....
Required Website Content
Website language can be written in the language of instruction of the mentoring teacher
'Who are YOU?' landing page post
Who are you? What issues concern you in today's world? What are you hopes and thoughts for the future?
Give us a sense of who you are as an individual and member of school community.
Process & Essential Question
Reflection on how your idea came to you. What was the process? What questions were revealed?
Write a description here of the process you went through in deciding on your project. Include your observations and reflections, at least two good paragraphs.
Include photos of your notebooks or screenshots of document work you think might help explain.
The Pitch/Proposal
You will be meeting with your mentor teacher 1:1 to pitch your idea for your project. They will then decide the viability of your project, and either give you the go-ahead, or make suggestions to improve.
The Research Paper
Every student must do their OWN original research. You will be working on the research in English class and mentoring time, and it will also be counted as a grade in your English class
Mentor and/or Outside Organization
Explain how you developed this relationship to help shape your project. This post also shows that you have approval to work with a group/organization.
Include photos of you with the people you have connected with - videos, etc are great. Even screenshots of emails and texts are acceptable in limited quantity.
Provide name and contact information (phone and email)
Evidence & Progress
Focus on describing how the project is going. Any initial setbacks or changes, surprises, how are you responding to needs? Discuss interactions with mentor or partner at organization if you have one. What things have you accomplished? Be sure that you are documenting with photos, copies of lesson plans, etc... Each post should be at least two good paragraphs.
