Senior Project website language SHOULD be written in the language of instruction of the mentor teacher.
Follow these steps to design your senior project and/or service learning activity....
(use the Project Development Planning Tool to help you).
1. THINK: What is your BIG idea? What kinds of things interest YOU or bother YOU?
Make a list of these things... Mind Map Ideas.... Think Divergently... Explore lots of things...
2. Develop questions from your BIG IDEAS which will drive your project. Questions with more than one answer should help drive the research of your project.
For example: How might art play a role in helping long-term hospital patients improve their condition?
3. Student then does research on the question.
4. Student develops a project based on what the research 'taught' them.. (use the Project Development Planning Tool to help you).
5. The senior project idea based on above question & research:
Develop art therapy activities for children in hospitals through student created materials and lessons. At the end of the sessions, administer a survey to evaluate the effects of art therapy on hospital children.
The video below is a simple overview of how to design and investigate a project idea.
Please see the proposal form for more details on putting together your senior project.
