2016 Greek Heritage Festival, Saturday, May 14, 11a - 7p

Festival of Greek Culture and Heritage set for Saturday, May 14, 2016 11 am to 7 pmExperience a taste of Greece through authentic, hand-made food delicacies, tour our church that is a combination of 1890’s architecture and Byzantine decoration reminiscent of Orthodox churches across Greece and take in a demonstration by our costumed Greek dance troupe.

This spectacular one-day Greek Festival is a wonderful family event that each year draws thousands of visitors from across the tristate area. Come dance in the streets as West 91st transforms into a Greek “plaka” (central plaza) for the day. The Greek Festival is now an annual Upper West Side tradition for singles and families alike, featuring traditional homemade foods, continuous Greek music with dancing, and special activities area just for the kids. Additional festival highlights include Yiayia's Attic (flea market), art, clothing, jewelry and gift boutiques, religious icons, and religious bookstore. Parishioner-guided tours of the church sanctuary take place hourly.

The parishioners of Annunciation extend to all festival guests their traditional Greek hospitality while preparing and serving-up this year’s specially selected festival menu that includes freshly prepared gyros and souvlaki hot off the barbecue grill. Traditional homemade Greek desserts including, loukoumades (honey puffs) prepared hot to order, are available to eat at the festival or to take home for later.

Festival hours are Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., just off Broadway on West 91st St. between West End Ave. and Riverside Drive.
