FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Alcona FFA Chapter Goals
  • Leadership Contest Participation - Get at least 30 returning members to attend district leadership contests and 15-30 greenhand members to participate.
  • Increase Community Involvement - Have at least one member at every Alcona County Recycling event, participate in at lest 3 non FFA community events and increase community members that attend Maple Syrup Celebration Day to over 650.
  • End the school year with $3,000-$4,000 in our FFA Account - Have additional fundraising activities, sell more during fruit sale and approach more businesses, make budget cuts where possible and ask for donations.

Alcona FFA Officer Goals

  • More Member/Officer Interaction - Inside and outside of school, talk to at least 10 members at each meeting or event and bring our membership together as one group.
  • Better Communication Between Officers - Facebook chat, google chat, bonding outside of school and regular FFA activities, have mail boxes, and more.
  • Officer Responsibilities - Each officer must bring all the necessary items for meetings, hold officers accountable, and help other officers with their responsibilities - work as a team.

Alcona FFA Advisor Goals

  • Be Open Minded - Don't be afraid to try new ideas the officer team comes up with.
  • Be Fun - Have fun, but make sure to keep officers on task throughout the school year.
  • Let Officers Complete their own Jobs - Don't do officers work for them; hold officers accountable.
  • Help - Be there to guide, assist and help officers when needed.
