Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24 Assignment

Post date: Apr 21, 2020 2:44:24 PM

Welcome, Scholars! I have doubly missed you -- and glad we are back to finish our year strong to best prepare you for whatever courses you will be in next year -- and to prepare to best communicate to accomplish all your dreams and goals?

With our new guidelines, you will complete 1 assignment this week -- a Discussion Board post that analyzes the tone and theme of a poem about nature or "the earth" to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of EARTH DAY this week -- April 22, 2020! The link is below - or you can go to the "HOME" page and look at the April 20-24 week assignment link! There is some planning you will need to do to prepare for your post final draft!

Take a few minutes to find information about the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day -- April 22 -- and the origins of Earth Day! There are forums and "stay-at-home" activities that people all around the world are doing to celebrate.

I'd love for your search for a poem about nature and analysis and reflection tinspire, much as the subject and ideas in the poem inspired the author to write. Think about the poems as you search for one to complete the Discussion Board post and planning -- and think of ways to enjoy and celebrate EARTH DAY!!!

You can even go to the World War Zero website and submit a question that may be answered on the evening forums this week -- that will broadcast all across the world!

Go to your Canvas Cours >> the Q4 module assignments is at the top >> to to the EARTH DAY POEM DISCUSSION BOARD POST. You will use a PLANNING SHEET - with very specific tasks -- to prepare for your Discussion Board and replies!

Then, you will finalize your Discussion Board and complete the required replies. I have posted a SAMPLE DISCUSSION BOARD POST for you to use as at model. Also, check the resources I've provided to remind you how to post to a discussion board, how to make replies (and replies replies) and how to embed the required image!

You have ALL week to do this! It should not take more than about 2 hours this week -- you will probably be able to do it in less time. Once you have completed the planning document, the Discussion Board is just a matter of copying and pasting and then formatting/revising your analysis and post!

There are also some EXTRA CREDIT opportunities in your Announcements (that you will submit by hitting "reply" to the announcement). Be on the lookout and follow guidelines to make sure you get credit! The first is below (and in Canvas Announcement) -- a way to share a celebration of Earth Day while you are safe at home >> window art related to the goals and history of Earth Day!

Join EPA in celebrating 50 years of Earth Day! @ https://www.epa.gov/earthday

Since many of us are staying safe at home this year, we're inviting everyone to celebrate Earth Day by drawing pictures, making signs, or using whatever recycled materials you have around the house to decorate the windows of your home to celebrate Earth Day with your community.

As always, just text or email if you have questions! Enjoy the week!
