Season Recap
A season of way too many last second heartbreaks. Finishing the regular season at 10-10 and 6-6 in the Conference, we were on the brink of our breakout season in our early history and it was not meant to be. Losing 4 games when the other team hits a last second shot which included Salem, Detroit Cody, Pioneer and Bedford and missing a layup to beat Huron in the final seconds would have destroyed most teams. Our kids battled all year long. The season culminated with another heart breaking loss in the district where we held Ypsilanti to 39 points and unfortunately only scored 35 while missing a last second opportunity to go to OT and Ypsilanti went on to win a Regional Title.
On the other side, of our 10 wins, our average winning margin was 16 points. We either won big or lost heartbreakers for the most part.
Our first new class of seniors did an outstanding job of laying the ground work for future success by setting high academic standards, hitting the weight room hard, practicing hard and being excellent role models for our younger kids. Our coaching staff can not thank Peter, Sharath, Marquis, Shawn, Akeme, Travonn and Jack enough for their outstanding senior leadership and consistent determination to do their best. They have truly laid the groundwork for much future success and have left Skyline a better place from when they got the leadership torch.
