742 National Capital Squadron was founded in 1963 and proudly continues to serve the Ottawa community.
The squadron has about 200 Air Cadets and 20 military and civilian staff/volunteers. Our squadron motto is “Our Youth, Our Pride” and attitude check is “742, Best in Blue!”.
Air Cadets are young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who participate in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities and learn valuable life and work skills such as teamwork, leadership and citizenship.
The Air Cadet Program also focuses on teaching basic to advanced aviation knowledge and stimulating interest in the air elements of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Air Cadets are not members of the CAF, however, the Cadet Program is sponsored by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada.
