Details for our regular training, activities and events can be found on the Calendar details.
The safety of our cadets/staff/volunteers is priority. We kindly ask that drivers exercise caution and patience in the parking lot. Winter weather conditions may delay drop off/pick up.
Please plan ahead for transportation to and from cadet activities. It is important that cadets be picked up at the specified end time of activities. Beyond this, cadets/staff must wait outside when there is no access to buildings regardless of weather conditions. We thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
Tip: always check the website Announcements and Calendar prior to an activity to familiarize with the start/end times and any pertinent details.
Open to all cadets (limited to 72 spots) - Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in a 20-minute power familiarization flight in a Cessna aircraft. This is a great opportunity for all cadets to experience, to familiarize with the operation, controls, and performance of a powered aircraft. Sign up closed.
Please read the details carefully posted on Calendar. Cadets need to be dressed for the cold weather as they will be outside (winter jacket, hat, mitts, etc.) NOTE: Cadets will be notified via email if weather conditions do not permit flying/cancellation of the day.
If you are no longer available to attend, you MUST email Lt Chan as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to another cadet.
This year, the squadron will be running a Nordic Ski Club on Saturdays mornings and some Wednesday evenings starting in January. We may have one practice before the break.
A limited amount of skate ski equipment is available to borrow. Priority will be given to current biathlon team members, followed by cadets who are new to cross-country skiing. Equipment availability will be confirmed Dec 4, with pickup on Dec 10.
Mess dinner is a ceremonial occasion where all 742 cadets and personnel gather to dine formally and to celebrate the achievements/milestones of the training year. There are also guest speeches and awards, so you don't want to miss out! Check out the infographic on what to expect

Junior Ground School will start mid-winter. It will be open to any cadet and is a general interest course. It is not a prerequisite for Senior Ground School.
It will take place on Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm at the Uplands Canadian Forces Community Center (330 Croil Private Building 471, Ottawa, ON K1V 1J1)
Cadets who are interested in applying for the Glider or Power Pilot Training Courses must read the linked requirements and fill out the interest form. Note that the process involves 40 hours of ground school and an entrance exam.
Cadets who do not yet meet eligibility requirements (levels 1 and 2, under 15, or those not intending to apply but are interested in aviation) are invited to join general ground school in the second half of the training year.
In-person classes are offered on Wednesday evenings from Sept 24 onwards, and online classes will start in late November. Cadets are encouraged to attend both, but it is not required.
All enrolled cadets are issued a Cadet365 account. This provides access to your cadet email (Outlook) and MS Teams (essential for virtual training), along with various online resources and training. Please follow the onboarding instructions (under Resources) in order to access your cadet email and MS Teams.
