Cadets are authorized to wear an orange shirt under FTUs for Thurs training to observe National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Details for our regular training, activities and events can be found on the Calendar details.
Please see the calendar weekly entries for details on:
Sept 25 - Training night for all cadets & Orange Shirt Day
Oct 2 - CO's parade - first promotions of the training year!
Important: Every year, returning cadets must complete their Annual Validation Forms and detailed medical verifications (where required). All parents/guardians of returning cadets will receive an email with the forms, which must be printed, signed, and returned. Failure to return this will prevent cadets from participating in training/activities.
Please make arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time from all cadet events.
As part of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, both observed on September 30th, the Commanding Officer of RCSU(E) authorizes CC/Sqn personnel and cadets to wear an orange t-shirt with their CADPAT / Field Training Uniform from Sept 22 to 30 inclusively, during regular training activities.

The list of confirmed cadets has been posted to the calendar. Cadets are to be dropped off in parking lot E2 in front of Hangar 11 at 7:45 am, and pickup will be at 5:00 pm. Please make arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time from all cadet events. Cadets must bring a filled water bottle, lunch, and warm clothing (it can be very cold and windy!) You must inform Capt Glendenning if you can no longer attend, so your spot may be offered to another cadet. There will be another date in the spring, and signup will be posted in late March for cadets who did not have a flight in 2024-2025.

Junior Ground School will start mid-winter. It will be open to any cadet and is a general interest course. It is not a prerequisite for Senior Ground School!
It will take place on Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm at the Uplands Canadian Forces Community Center (330 Croil Private Building 471, Ottawa, ON K1V 1J1)
Cadets who are interested in applying for the Glider or Power Pilot Training Courses must read the linked requirements and fill out the interest form by Sept 29, 2025. Note that the process involves 40 hours of ground school and an entrance exam.
Cadets who do not yet meet eligibility requirements (levels 1 and 2, under 15, or those not intending to apply but are interested in aviation) are invited to join general ground school in the second half of the training year.
In-person classes are offered on Wednesday evenings from Sept 24 onwards, and online classes will start in November. Cadets are encouraged to attend both, but it is not required.
The region has decided that biathlon will be held as a running and shooting activity for the upcoming year (no winter biathlon). Cadets must be training (running) on their own for September, and are welcome to join the open workout on Oct 8. Cadets must attend at least one of the tryout dates: Oct 15 and 18, and be available for the patrol race weekend (Nov 15-16).
We will offer a Nordic Ski Club as a separate optional activity, as we have some cross-country ski equipment available to lend out for the winter to those wishing to join us.
Cadets currently in level 1 or 2, as well as qualified level 4 cadets, are invited to attend an FTX hosted by 742 sqn at Rideau Hill Camp. 75 and 211 cadets will also be participating. Transporation is provided from Hangar 11.
