Important: Every year, returning cadets must complete their Annual Validation Forms and detailed medical verifications (where required). All parents/guardians of returning cadets will receive an email with the forms, which must be printed, signed, and returned. Failure to return this will prevent cadets from participating in training/activities.
Please make arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time from all cadet events.
Cadets currently in level 1 or 2, as well as qualified level 4 cadets, are invited to attend an FTX hosted by 742 sqn at Rideau Hill Camp. 75 and 211 cadets will also be participating. Transportation is provided from Pierre de Blois High School. Level 1s are to be dropped off at the school at 1745 and level 2s at 1845.

Who: Level 4+ (senior cadets)
What: The Legion has set up avisit to The Perley and Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre to afford an opportunity to meet veterans have some tea and hand out poppies to them. They are seeking support from a few senior cadets to accompany the Legion members attending.
When: Wed 29 October 2025 from 1900-2030hrs
Where: The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (1750 Russell Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1G 5Z6)
Dress: C1 Ceremonial

We will offer a Nordic Ski Club as an optional activity, as we have some cross-country ski equipment available to lend out to those wishing to join us starting in January. We also encourage you to join your school's Nordic ski team!
Sign up for this important remembrance event, the Poppy Campaign, and help us support the Legion. This can also contribute towards your volunteer hours for school.
Dress: C3 (tunic)
No meals provided. Cadets should bring a snack and filled water bottle. Cadets who will be there for a full day (both AM/PM shifts) must bring a lunch. Cadets participating in the AM shift must have already had breakfast prior to arrival, and for the PM shift only must have already had lunch prior to arriving.
As with any cadet activity, cadets are expected to act in accordance with the Cadet Code of Conduct and set a positive example in the community.
Who: Anyone who is interested (no prior experience required)!
What: The Drill team allows cadets to build their leadership, teamwork, dress, drill, and deportment skills through learning, perfecting, and performing drill sequences.
Where: Hangar 11 (190 Clear Skies Private)
When: Sundays from 0900-1200hrs

Marksmanship will take place on Sundays as indicated on the calendar from 1100-1500hrs.
Junior Ground School will start mid-winter. It will be open to any cadet and is a general interest course. It is not a prerequisite for Senior Ground School.
It will take place on Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm at the Uplands Canadian Forces Community Center (330 Croil Private Building 471, Ottawa, ON K1V 1J1)
Cadets who are interested in applying for the Glider or Power Pilot Training Courses must read the linked requirements and fill out the interest form by Oct 17, 2025. Note that the process involves 40 hours of ground school and an entrance exam.
Cadets who do not yet meet eligibility requirements (levels 1 and 2, under 15, or those not intending to apply but are interested in aviation) are invited to join general ground school in the second half of the training year.
In-person classes are offered on Wednesday evenings from Sept 24 onwards, and online classes will start in November. Cadets are encouraged to attend both, but it is not required.
