The 742 Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is a team of dedicated parent volunteers and community members who work in close partnership with Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) staff to support and enhance the cadet experience at 742 Squadron.
While CAF personnel are responsible for training, supervision, and administration of the Cadet Program, the SSC plays a vital role in ensuring the program is enriching, well‑resourced, and accessible to every cadet.
The SSC represents the Air Cadet League of Canada within our local community and directly supports the three aims of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets:
Develop leadership and good citizenship
Promote physical fitness
Spark an interest in aviation and aerospace
We do this by providing local support that goes beyond what is funded or delivered by the CAF, including:
Fundraising and responsible financial stewardship
Community engagement and public outreach
Events, activities, and special cadet opportunities
Equipment, supplies, and non‑military assets
Food services and hospitality
Contracting and logistical support
Communications and volunteer coordination
Every fundraiser, community partnership, and behind‑the‑scenes effort directly translates into meaningful opportunities for cadets.
