Friday May 31

Today we:

  • Turned in LATE Act one summary sheets
  • Read Act 2: scenes 1 and 2
  • Took open book "quiz" on ACT 1
  • Do you need to make up a test from Thursday on Shakespearean Tragedy elements and other terms?
  • ALL late work from last 2 weeks due TODAY!

Homework:

Get caught up on reading---and if you are caught up, have a great weekend.

  • Did today's Macbeth readings confuse you? NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE: MACBETH---look it up online



THURSDAY May 30

Today we:

  • took test on terms and elements of a tragedy
  • Finished Act 1--filled out Act 1 summary sheet and TURNED THIS IN--this will be late on Friday if not turned in today

Homework:

  • none unless you have assignments to turn in for Mr. Jensen!--Deadline Friday!!!! (Tomorrow)
  • Did today's Macbeth readings confuse you? NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE: MACBETH---look it up online

Wednesday May 29

Today we:

  • studied the elements of a Shakespearean Tragedy and the terms for a play (see handout)---TEST TOMORROW
  • Read Act 1: scene 3 (and 4?) and filled out scene summary sheet--discussed thematic topics (tomorrow we finish Act 1 and turn in Act 1 summary sheet!)

Homework:

  • Study your terms sheet for Shakespearean Tragedy! You need to memorize the 10 elements of a tragedy and get the spelling right! TEST TOMORROW
  • Did today's Macbeth readings confuse you? NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE: MACBETH---look it up online

Tuesday May 28

Today we:

  • Picked up Macbeth books from AV room
  • Went over cast of characters and basic plot of Macbeth
  • Viewed powerpoint of Macbeth's historical origins
  • Began reading Act 1 and filling out act 1 response sheet
        • Read Act 1: scenes 1 and 2

Homework:

  • Study your terms and the criteria for a Shakespearean Tragedy--Test on Thursday (See handout below)
  • If you get confused during each day's readings---go home and re-read the scene in MODERN ENGLISH.(see link here!) This cannot be done DURING class, since you need to pay attention to SHAKESPEARE's Words and my mini-lectures during that time!
