Friday, May 17th

Today We:

  • read a Flash Fiction story
  • watched the related youtube adaptation.
  • drew a picture of the story to show our loved ones

Homework:

  • We start Shakespeare on Monday- Prepare your minds and souls. For my classroom is a stage ,and you are but my actors.

Thursday, May 16th

Today We:

  • Concluded the microfiction workshop and picked the story that we want graded and published and emailed it to Mr. Jensen in the body of the email.
  • Got an introduction to flash fiction and read a story.

Homework:

  • late work, do it if you got it.


Wednesday 5-15-19

Today We:

  • read more microfiction
  • peer reviewed student work!!

Homework:

  • turn in all the drafts you have of microfiction 1, 2, and 3
  • share with me your final drafts of your top two microfiction after they have been edited by you and two peers. Share with mrjensen4j@gmail.com. Share as ONE document

Tuesday, 5-14-2019

Homework:

  • final draft of your top two microfiction stories is due tomorrow (typed) 300-500 words!!!
  • share with mrjensen4j@gmail.com as 1 document
  • writing workshop sheet is due tomorrow

Today we:

  • typed our top two microfiction pieces on Google Docs
  • did a self-analysis (see handout below) and MAYBE writing workshop (see attached sheet) after stories are TYPED

Today We:

  • Read some microfiction in class
  • Wrote Microfiction 3

Prompts: Choose One (3/4- 1 page long)

1. Write a story that begins with the phrase: "Well, that was unexpected"

2. Write a story that ends in a car chase.

3. Write whatever story you want.


Criteria:


Have a purposeful title

Choose 1st or 3rd person narrator

Stick to either writing in past tense or present tense

Make it intriguing/interesting
