Middle School Requirements
All students will be registered for the following courses in 6th Grade:
Art 6
Family & Consumer Science 6
Health 6
Introduction to World Language
Music (Band, Orchestra, Chorus, or Music I)
Technology 6
Music in 6th Grade
Students who have participated in two ensembles in elementary school may choose to continue in one or both groups in middle school. When continuing with more than one ensemble, the instrumental classes (Band/Orchestra) will be scheduled first. Chorus will need to be selected on the scheduling form as an additional music class.
Students who do not participate in Band, Orchestra, or Chorus will be scheduled for Music I (a non-performance based music class).

Self-awareness, Time management, Achievement, Results, Teamwork.
Students will embark on an engaging journey to develop skills that foster academic and personal growth. This course is designed to empower students with tools to navigate their school environment and beyond, focusing on key areas such as time management, effective communication, research skills, teamwork, and critical thinking. Students will participate in interactive activities, group projects, and reflective exercises that promote self-awareness and goal setting, learning how to manage their time effectively, engage in constructive discussions, and collaborate with peers to solve problems creatively.
STEAM
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music.
Through hands-on projects and collaborative problem-solving, students will explore topics in engineering, coding, digital design, and scientific investigation. In this course, students will develop critical thinking skills by engaging in the engineering design process to solve real-world challenges. They will investigate scientific concepts, apply mathematical reasoning, and use technology creatively to build prototypes and models. Art principles will be woven into projects to enhance aesthetic understanding, fostering innovation and creativity.
