You're Officially a Gelinas Student!
Now What???
Starting middle school is a big step, and you don't have to do it alone! The Guidance Department is here to help you learn your way around school, build confidence, make friends, and develop strong habits for success.
Meet Your School Counselor!
Your School Counselor is someone you can talk to about school and classes, friendship and social issues, stress, worries, or big feelings, organization and time management. Students can make an appointment to see their counselor with our Guidance Secretary, Mrs. Woods, by stopping into the Guidance office.

In September, the Guidance Department will meet with all 6th graders during Family & Consumer Science/Technology/Art classes. We will familiarize you with our role and how to make a Guidance appointment.
Guidance Meet & Greet
Each 6th grader will have the opportunity to meet their Counselor one-on-one. Counselors will engage with pointed questions to get to know students better. Students are encouraged to ask questions too!
Students should continue to meet with their counselors as the year progresses, we will be with you for the next three years!
Get Involved!
Middle school is a time of transition. We encourage you to get involved to connect with others who share similar interests and meet staff members you wouldn't otherwise meet. In addition, 6th graders are encouraged to try new clubs to engage in their school community. Continuing your school and outside community involvement will create the foundation of personal growth and resume for future secondary planning.
Please view extra curricular tab above for opportunities.
Guidance Pass
When you have an appointment with a Guidance staff member you will receive a pink pass in your homeroom. You can see Mrs. Woods in the Guidance Office to schedule an appointment.
Hall Pass
To walk in the halls during class time you will always need a pass!
