Q: For the resume, how far back in time should they record achievements/activities?
A: For a high school student, it is generally best to focus on achievements and activities beginning in 9th grade. If there is something significant from Middle School that the student participated in, please feel free to include it.
Q: Do JV/Varsity sports count as the PE credit? What about marching band?
A: No, JV/Varsity sports and marching band do not count as High School credits. Each student is required to take 2 credits of Physical Education and 1 credit of Music and/or Art in their school schedule.
Q: What is the music requirement in High School, if any? Does my child need to continue an instrument to fulfill a music credit?
A: Students are required to take 1 credit of Music or Art to graduate. The credit can be fulfilled by taking any Music or Art classes.
