Within Fandango’s seating policy for Regal and Kerasotes theater chains, there is a rule that will prevent Customers from purchasing if they leave a single empty seat between chosen seats. This rule is called the Orphan Seat rule. There is a message at the top of the seat selection screen letting Customer’s know this but very often they either don’t notice or don’t understand.
What does this mean? With the exception of single seats being left on the end-caps, the Orphan Seat Rule will not allow a single seat to be left between the seat(s) chosen. The system will not allow a purchase in any scenario where a single seat is left alone.
As shown in the example below, the Orphan Seat Rule will not allow an empty seat between the two chosen seats.
