Tyler Tysdal has seen many entrepreneurs succeed in sports, and not just in sports management and agencies. Some sports-loving business-minded individuals have put up their own establishments and seen it thrive in an extremely competitive environment.

One type of establishment is the gym. Over the past two decades, there have been thousands of gyms that have been put up catering to all sorts of fitness enthusiasts. Here are some of these gyms.

The traditional bodybuilding gym

This is the most common kind of gym and with a majority of gym goers wanting to focus more on physical aesthetics, arguably the most popular. Gyms such as Anytime Fitness, Gold’s Gym, Planet Fitness, and the like, these gyms consists typically of machines and trainers, wherein people normally do isolated workouts focusing on building muscle and losing fat.

The HIIT gym

A huge part of the fitness boom over the past two decades can be attributed to the emergence of new-age high-intensity interval training (HIIT) programs. Among them, the most well-known is CrossFit. A huge number of CrossFitters have sworn by its results, and many other similar gyms have popped up with variations of HIIT.

The boxing/fighting gym

Boxing gyms have expanded a bit over the past decades to include mixed martial arts (MMA) in their programs. These are popular gyms because not only do they provide excellent cardiovascular exercises, they’re stress relievers, and self-defense classes all rolled into one, notes Tyler Tysdal.
