Q. What is The Mustang Chronicle?

The Mustang Chronicle is a quarterly newsmagazine for the students. It hopes to give Mustangs an opportunity to share, connect, express themselves, and celebrate their achievements. We are inviting submissions from all students.


Q. How do I submit my work?

Upload your art using any scanning app or if it’s electronic art, then share it with us at themustangchronicle21@gmail.com. All writing should be in google doc format.

Your art or writing should reflect the themes chosen by the team of The Mustang Chronicle. Please submit with the first name and grade only. Mention in the subject line of the email, what your theme is, and whether it’s writing or art, to be featured in “Little Writers”(Grades Prek-2) or “This and That”(Grades 3-5) or “Letter to My Older Self”(5th Graders) or the “Art Box/Comic Strip”(Primary and Upper grades). The writing can be anything you would like to share-opinion, stories, poems, jokes, book reports, etc.



Q. What are the themes for the next publication?

The themes for November 2021 edition are:-


September-Back to School -Please share your experience in writing or as an artwork of how you spent your summer vacation, how was the first day of school, what are you looking forward to this year. (Field trips, Halloween carnival, Apex fun Run, Spring dance, talent show, Ukelele club, etc.)

October-Halloween (Share in writing or as artwork your costume or Halloween plans, spooky stories/poems, or art)

November-Veteran's Day/Thanksgiving (Write a letter to a Veteran, tell us what you are

thankful about, draw a picture of how you would honor a veteran; tell us about how you

celebrate Thanksgiving-any special traditions you would like to share with the Mustangs)



Q. When is the submission due for the Second edition? (November 2021)

The deadline is October 30th, 2021



Q. What are the art submission criteria?

  1. Hand-drawn paint, sketches, and craft, pictures to be submitted in the email. You can use Google drawing, Chrome canvas, or any other app for your artwork which can be shared in the email. You can also submit a Comic Strip. Please submit with the first name and grade only.

  2. Comic Strip-6.6x10.2 or 4x6 inch; Artwork-8x11 inch. If you are using a camera to take the picture, set it to the highest picture quality and take a picture in natural light. The picture should not look grainy or uncropped. The minimum resolution should be 300DPI( dots per inch). The image could be in jpeg, jpg, png formats.



Q. What are the writing submission criteria?

Writing has to be shared using Google docs or Microsoft Word or Pages. It can be a descriptive, informative, or opinion writing piece. The Primary grades submission should be (50-200) words and Senior grades (100 - 400) words long. Please submit with your first name and grade only.



Q. Can I submit more than one thing to the magazine?

Yes, you can. You can submit as many entries as you want.


Q. Will my submission be accepted and published?

All your appropriate submissions will be accepted. It will go through a selection process by the editorial team. If it meets the standard, then it will be published.



Q. What is the “Letter to My Older Self” feature?

The “Letter to My Older Self” is a special feature for the fifth graders. You can share memories, stories, aspirations, dreams, or anything else you would like to tell your older self.



Q. How do I get featured on the Student achievements page?

If you have participated in any sports activity/tournament, dance, music, theatre or performance, or STEM activity, or if you are a girl/cub scout troop who has contributed to the community and would like to share your achievements, you can contact us at our email. The students who get special recognition in the Flag Salute may also feature on this page.

Q. Are the themes always going to be the same for all editions?

No. The themes will vary with each edition.



Q. Is there a sports page?

Not in the first edition. We have the “Catching Up with the Mustangs” and “Meet the Students” feature which might cover sports events. The newsmagazine will evolve over time and later on, we may have a page for sports events.
