What sort of activities are there?

Indigenous culture provides of variety of activites that can occur in the drama room. The list below links a variety of activities and students relfections on each activity. This list is not comprehensive and will continue to grow.

Bringing Indigenous playwrights into the classroom, is a strong way to provide students with unique cultural perspectives.

Researching Indigenous artists builds students awareness of what a performer is.

Land acknowledgements are a crucial way to encourage respect, reconciliation and value of land. The follow section reveals potential activities for students to participate in.

In order to add integrity and help the student see storytelling from another perspective we invited an elder to our classroom.

Throughout the course of the 3 weeks, students completed reflection journals, in which they reflect on questions about performance and Indigenous culture. This section provides examples of student achievement and possible journal prompts.
