Drawing Tutorials
Evidence of Work
This project took roughly ten weeks, and taught us important lessons aside from those intended. We learned to persevere and keep working on a task despite the tedium of said task. The knowledge of what orthographic vs perspective vs isometric is will primarily help us when choosing a position in CAD.
Content
Orthographic
View is perpendicular to a face of an object
Front, back, top, bottom, sides
Perspective
View as it would be out in the real world
Isometric
View is directed towards a vertex of the object, at 30 degree angle to all
Horizon line
Determines the angle from which an object is being viewed
Construction Lines
Lines purely used to guide the construction of the object
Vanishing point
The point on the horizon where all lines seems to vanish to
Shading
Creating the illusion of lighting
Reflection
Although long and tedious, this project did get done. Although not much thinking was required, (this was mostly note-taking) when drawing was required, I had to use Critical Thinking to know what to do and how. This was mostly knowing how to implement techniques learned throughout these tutorials. Also, I tried to think like an engineer and immerse myself in the engineering culture. This is good Cultural Competence.
However, many tutorials were very tedious, and I turned them in late. This was a demonstration of poor Conscientious Learner skills. Additionally, Communication with teammates regarding these tutorials was mostly centered around complaining about them.
