Why study iMedia?
From television to cinema, radio to podcasts, social media to blogs and vlogs, and everything in between – it plays a big part of our every day. And it’s never been so relevant than in the internet age, where actors, singers, and personalities can make their own celebrity online using their media skills. As technology, creativity, and competition increase, these skills become more in demand all over the world.
iMedia will equip you with the communication and technology skills needed to succeed in the modern workplace, whether in the media industry or not. Whether you choose to pursue a career in film and television, fight for your own fame, or take your skills into business – you’ll be well equipped for what the modern workplace is looking for.
Studying iMedia will help you develop the following: a range of creative media skills; in-context, desirable, transferable skills such as research, planning, and reviewing; working with others, and communicating creative concepts effectively. Through the use of these skills, learners will ultimately be creating fit-for-purpose creative media products. Students will engage in both theory and practical work, in a range of units. The qualification will build skills in numerous media sectors which can then be further developed post 16.
“Good design’s not about what medium you’re working in. It’s about thinking hard about what you want to do and what you have to work with before you start.”
