Why study Child Development?

Studying Child Development can lead you into a wide range of careers working with children and health and social care. The course has both practical and theoretical elements and includes some scenario-based tasks to give you an insight into some careers. Child Development is suitable for you if you would like to work with children and prepare for parenthood.

Students studying Child Development will meet with professionals in the childcare and child health sector and will be offered opportunities to visit providers of such facilities e.g. local nurseries and childminders. The knowledge gained from this course would give you a foundation to go onto a range of careers, apprenticeships and further studies but especially post 16 studies in Child Care, Health & Social Care, Early Years education, Psychology and Sociology.
