The website Banned Library documents how Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan was checked out and publicly burned by an activist in Iowa in 2019 who was protesting its presence on the shelves of the Orange County Public Library, It has also been the subject of parental challenges in schools, notably in Virginia in 2014.
