My Blog

A blog, all about my being continually inspired by Comme des Garcons, and other fantastic designers/artists, to keep conceptualising, creating, cutting and constructing!

My whakatauki 'Ka tuitui koe, ka whiwhi koe' relates to the fundamentals of my blog, 'As you sew, so you will acquire'.

In this case ' so like the boys'!

This was the very first one, inspired by the Comme des Garcons A/W 2004 collection 'Dark Romance Witch'.

From there, it has just flowed...so inspired to 'solovetosewliketheboys.

"Making your own clothes can be part of a holistic way of living, which includes creative acts, different ways of being, attempting to live and love in novel ways that fit with how you feel yourself to be, rather than censoring  yourself." (Charlie Porter, fashion journalist)

I like this skill tree. It is a very clear way a student can plot the improvement of their skills. I can see how the projects I undertake with my Yr. 7, 8, 9 & 10  classes, develop their skills according to this tree. Very pleasing.
