A British holidaymaker died of heat stroke during an outback trek in Australia.
Pamela, 54, was sightseeing with partner John when she fell ill
and began hallucinating in the 90 degree heat, an inquest heard.
they became lost and decided to follow the signs in the opposite
direction. But it soon became clear that Miss Plant was struggling.
'Pamela started to hallucinate and so I carried her bags and helped
her along. It all came on very quickly, she wanted to go but was
struggling. She then collapsed.
'I found a tree with some shade
and sat her underneath it. I poured some water over her to keep her
cool and gave her my hat which was bigger than hers and went looking
for help.'
East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor recorded a verdict of
misadventure. He said: 'What should have been an exciting trip sadly
ended in tragedy. You have my sympathy for that.'

degrees Celsius.
Upon returning from the climb, no water could
be found in the area. Miller ran ahead to find water and was later
found dead by a rescue team.
