Sharp Island

When divers talk about "Sharp Island", they usually mean the coral area south of "Kiu Tsui village". This is a "no-anchoring" zone on the West side of Sharp Island, opposite Sai Kung.

The narrow, TOO NARROW, area is marked by yellow pyramid-like buoys.

It's one of the most, if not THE MOST, popular site for training dives at the entry level.

The coral coverage used to be very good but it has been in decline the last few years. It's a very popular place for both snorkellers and divers. Unfortunately too many people either are careless or don't care about not damaging the corals. Whether snorkellers who are weak swimmers and stand on corals, especially during low tide, or divers with bad buoyancy skills crashing/kicking corals, it just happens too often for the corals to recover.
