PADI Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver course in a nutshell;

1x theory session

1-2 sessions confined water / pool sessions

2-3 sessions training dive(s) at sea

You sign up and get the materials, manual and DVD.

The DVD is on loan and gives a a very good visual of what’s in the manual.

The manual consists of 5 chapters with a “Knowledge Review” at the end of each chapter. You go through the theory in your own time and pace and complete all the 5 “Knowledge Reviews” in the manual. You must complete

at least the first 4 “Knowledge Reviews” BEFORE we meet for the theory session.

For your commitment to this, I will commit to train you until you are both comfortable and competent executing the skills at the required level. Even if this is beyond the standard number of confined water-/pool- and sea sessions,

the extra sessions will be free of charge. However, you have to complete the course within 12 months, starting from your first day.

You have to be able to swim 200 metres and be able to tread water or float for 10 minutes, both of these you need to be able to do non stop and without any floatation aids.

Another option is to review the completed "Knowledge Reviews" by email, that way there the initial theory session can be as short as 45 -60 minutes.

This way you can be more time efficient and the course schedule can be more flexible. The confined water sessions will be done off the beach or in the pool and

the sea-training dives in “Sai Kung” and in some cases from shore (in Tai Po). The theory session can be in Tsim Sha Tsui, “pool-side” or elsewhere we can agree on.

The course fee is: HKD 4,500 , this covers:

- all training, training materials and equipment.

- manual, logbook and Recreational Dive Planner

- certification for the level you mastered
