What do we do ?

  • We are a group of friends, from all walks of life, with a common passion for diving and socialising afterwards. We like to share with others and show them that the diving here can be good and sometimes

surprising in terms of what can be seen. We dive in Hong Kong and abroad, preferably away from the crowds.

  • We promote eco-friendly dive- and boating practises. As a matter of fact, the Sandy Bottom Divers club has been instrumental in making two HK based dive-centres an "Eco-Operator". Diving Express Ltd was the second dive operator in Hong Kong to achieve that status under Ken's guidance.
  • Besides diving for fun, we also like to help out with Fish surveys, Reef-checks and Clean-up events. We encourage members to bring at least one piece of rubbish back, if there is any, from every dive.
  • For those who would like to learn to dive, or like to further develop their skills and experience, we also provide PADI training courses.
  • Anybody who likes what we do and how we go about it can join our club. Those who wish to extend their membership beyond their first year will have to be at least a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) or do the Rescue Diver course. Safe diving is always a priority and with most of our members being at the Rescue Diver level, or above, we will always be in a position to deal with- or assist in any emergency.
  • Visit our Diving Best Practises page for details regarding our thoughts on "dive etiquette".
