Best Practises

All our members will, by their second year of membership at the latest, be a PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent. We organise annual CPR refreshers combined with a day of fun, food and drinks.

Members are encouraged to do their PADI Peak Performance Specialty, as to improve their buoyancy skills. This will enhance their enjoyment underwater and their ability to stay close to the reef and corals w/o crashing into them

Why do we want members to be a Rescue Diver, at least ? Well, when our members are out (diving), we will be able to assist and/or deal with emergencies that might occur.

"Best Practice" comes down to doing what is considered the best/safest way to do things. Just because we do it like this, doesn't need that it is the only way. We welcome any ideas/comments from others regarding our Practices.

So what do we strive to do..........................

- Members are at least PADI Rescue Diver, or equivalent, from their 2nd year onwards

- Annual CPR refreshers

- Annual Rescue Scenarios, practise

- Practise good Buoyancy, stay of the reef / corals

- Watch only and not touch / take / harass any marine life

- Each diver carries their own SMB when diving. SMB is deployed at the end of the dive

- Solo dives are only done when well prepared, equiped and trained/experienced

- Set up our own gear, or at least personally check gear/tank every time somebody else sets it up.

- Have our BCD (2 years max) and regulator set (1 year) serviced regurlary
