06-2017 June

Well the heat wave we were experiencing in central CA finally broke (not that 95 is cool but it sure beats 113). The temperatures may have cooled but the shooting did not and when the dust settled both the PCP and Piston Hunter Class shooters posted the highest scores of the day smoking the field. Special hats off to JackC high PCP and BobK high Piston for shooting their all time high scores in taking the honors.

We had another great turnout with 25 shooters enjoying the first bearable weather we have had in almost 10 days. The scores indicate that everyone was ready to get out and do some shooting because the scores posted as a group were the highest I can remember. JackC won the Hunter PCP class shoting an amazing 53/54, only one offhand shot away (and his last lane!) from cleaning the course. BobK shot a great 43 to take the Hunter Piston class by 5 shots. ChrisM continued his string of great matches wining Open PCP by 2 shots. RizM managed to squeak by DaveC winning the WFTF PCP class by 1. Dave was shooting, for the first time, a rifle he just purchased from Riz. Obviously Riz tuned it perfectly :o SonL appears to have his equipment issues worked out, taking the WFTF Piston class with a great score. It has been a pleasure to watch the quality of shooting by our group improve every month. If you are looking for a class win you better be on your game as there is no room for mistakes. We are fortunate to have 3 field target matches a month in the greater Sacramento/Bay area and the continued exposure to more competitions in different venues is paying off for many.

After the match we had a light lunch in the air conditioned clubhouse and rehashed the all the shoulda, coulda, woulda shots that might have brought home a win. It was a great day for shooting and just about everyone had a great time.

Again thanks to everyone who was out early to help with the course set up and to those who helped with the course tear down. We are getting this down to a science. Below are the scores and some pictures from the day.
