This month we were back at the Yolo shooting center in Davis. Gate was opened by 7:45 and throngs of folks streamed in ... But alas not for our activities but a Skeet / Trap workshop, which would affect us by keeping us inside cowboy town having no out in the open ground with winds and our ever so popular 50+ yards shots.

Set up was speedy with many lending a helping hand as they got on site. We had the entirety of the course set and ready to go before the 9:00 hour. Practice commenced while we waited for the stragglers to arrive, or so we thought. Those who arrived before 9:00 would be it ... 15 able and willing shooters. * We had a few away at the PA Cup match in Ohio, others I'm sure just unwilling to deal with the heat of the day that was forecast to be triple digits and it did indeed heat up quickly with the shade being very, very popular!

Bottom of the hour, we had our shooters meeting, got the gang to pull in the practice targets, assigned squads and off we went!

As a footnote, was odd that we were getting more than normal comments from the group that POI changes were affecting quite a few as the morning heated up ... I got a bit too at about 2/3rd of the way through the course -- shots started going high right for no obvious reason?

Thus was the day for a few, while others went to work and beat the snot out of the rest of us!! .... Still a good time had by all.

Today's results as follows * / 58 shot.

After the match wrapped up we did a SUPER speedy tear down and all headed to the clubhouse for lunch. Dang it once again the Skeet / Trap workshop gang had us UNABLE to use the lunch room in the air conditioning ... having us outside on the benches under a shade awning ... too dang hot. Quick lunch a bit of catching up on the morning's shoot and everyone bailed out for cooled climates be it the air conditioned car or home or perhaps a jump into a pool?

Thank you to all who came out this month and helped with the required manpower to set up and tear down. Till next month (IONE on Saturday September 28th), be well and keep on practicing.

Will be seeing some of you in about 3 weeks in Morro Bay for California State FT Championship on the weekend of September 14th & 15th.

Undecided? Sign up, we still have a few spaces left.
