September 24

As we had stated a couple weeks ago, with Cameron K's big win at the WFTF Worlds last month that the SVFTC would honor his accomplishment by having a special club match this month. A newsletter went out to the members at large asking for those who had them: SHOOT A SPRINGER at this match. All said of the 20 persons present we got 6 to take on the steel FT quarry (Cameron among them ) with rifles that go BOING !!!!

Today's setup was a full 15 lanes, with 2 targets per lane and 2 shots per target, for a 60-shot total. Lane 15 was offhand for 4 shots on our infamous bell targets. Thud or Ding!!

The early crew showed up and helped get everything done prior to practice, which lasted 1/2 hour as the last minute stragglers rolled in.

Gathered up the boys and spoke of Cameron's success abroad, he spoke giving all a personal perspective for a spell. Shooters meeting and we're off and shooting a tad past 9:30.

Once we finished up the crew took down the course in near record time, and put all the blocks on the trailer and targets in their storage boxes. We converged back to our shooting area and had a nice light lunch of meat/cheese rolls, cocktail shrimp, potato and pasta salads, cookies, and refreshments. This lunch was donated to the club by Conrad R and he would not take any reimbursement ... so THANK YOU CONRAD!!! It was really tasty and enjoyed by many.

The day's shooting scores were announced. Some stayed for a couple hours after and shot for fun, with us clearing out a tad past 3:00.

Until next month and the season's final match on October 22nd .... stay well, practice when you can. We'll see you all again then for some more FT fun!!
