LOL ... have we had enough rain in May yet ?

In the last eight days we've had (give or take) 5 inches worth, alas someone upstairs knew we had a FT match to shoot come Saturday and the storms left 2 days ago leaving quickly enough to dry up the soggy ground. March in IONE ... IIRC was a slog fest in the muck and mire of a lingering winter.

Today was WONDERFUL starting out with a bit of low fog clearing out to minimal clouds as the day went along .... nary a breeze early on to just enough of the Ione winds to get your attention. Yeah, those winds !

Memorial weekend ... GOD BLESS OUR SERVICEMEN past and present!

Nineteen folks made it out for this month's SVFTC match at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in Ione. We started early 7:30-ish getting the course set and were ready for practice by 8:15 or so. Having some local road closures complicating access to the facility, with a few folks late to get there, we started the match about 9:30 after a brief shooters meeting and a conversation about the SVFTC hosting the 2019 California State FT Championship down in Morro Bay on September 14-15-16. * Mark your calendars.

We set 58 shots of which 6 were offhand / 2 optional kneeling. 5 targets past 50 yards, little in the 21-30 typical zero ranges and the typical stinker small targets occupying the closer distances.

Just when you think i\I got this ... Ya don't !

As the day would play out the day's top shooters all seemed to peak with the same score which left us with a 3-WAY tie in Hunter PCP leading to a SHOOT OFF and another shooter in OPEN PCP who was wrangled into joining them for top score honors. Thus a 4-WAY shoot off for Class position & TOP DAWG !!

LUNCH ... "Dang" we're all hungry and got to it with sandwiches, potato salad and cookies. That done, the shoot off -- with the finish positions in the order noted above.

Tore down the course and packed it all away until next month.

THANK YOU to all who made it out for this month's match, hope you ALL had a good time spending quality time with like-minded enthusiasts! CYA all next month in YOLO ( Sunday 6-23-19 )

PS: Only photo of the day pretty much sums it up ... LOL 8-)
