1. Stain’d-by-the-Sea T-Shirt
Grey t-shirt: front reads “Lemony Snicket went to Stain’d-by-the-Sea and all I got was this lousy t-shirt” with lighthouse illustration, back reads “Don’t ask All the Wrong Questions LemonySnicketLibrary.com”. Distributed to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 and to bookstore staff at book signing events during the release tour.
2. Coaster
Cardboard coaster for use at release parties. Front has an illustration of Cleo Knight in a chemistry lab. Back has the book's cover image, publicity details, and a cocktail recipe: "Equal parts bourbon, dry vermouth, and Campari, served up with a twist of orange."
3. Advance Reading Copy (ARC)
Advance reading copies are pre-production / unfinished / review copies of the books sent to book reviewers, booksellers, librarians, etc. Distributed in summer 2013 by Little, Brown. Artwork is in black-and-white or absent.
4. Ransom Note
Booklet with sample excerpt from File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents (publication date April 1, 2014), which at the time was still titled File Under: Suspicious Incidents. October 2013 Barnes & Noble exclusive; included with purchase of a copy of "When Did You See Her Last?".
