This allows students to see the 'big picture' and how all the pieces fit together. Rubrics and self-reflection allow students to pace and police themselves.

Self-reflections along the way also provide an opportunity for me to see how they are doing BEFORE their final grade is due. It would be unfortunate to wait until it's too late to make adjustments and modifications in order to provide the needed supports for a student.
